In the fall of 2015 I was asked to create a logo for a small financial company by the name of Flower City Capital. It was a small shop that was looking for something different from the typical finance identity motifs, but with a high end feel.
My client sent images of country club branding and the logo for the City of Rochester as examples. “Flower City” refers to Rochester, New York.
After a few different comps, we settled on a direction and refined the primary mark from there. It’s more abstract than the initial design, and the type was set in Constantia Bold and then modified slightly.
